The (cough) “Secular Democrats of America PAC” prepared a report for Joe Biden and his transition team that outlines a roadmap to “boldly restore a vision of constitutional secularism and respect in the land for religious and intellectual pluralism.”
The federal political action committee “represents secular Democratic individuals and organizations” and advocates for “secular governance, promote respect and inclusion of nonreligious Americans, and mobilize nonreligious voters.”
The proposal was formally presented by Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin and Jared Huffman, co-chairs of the Congressional Freethought Caucus, and endorsed by Democratic Rep. Jerry McNerney.
“We’ve offered the new administration a roadmap to restore our basic constitutional values and protect science, reason and public health in American government,” Raskin and Huffman said in a joint statement.
The proposal calls for Biden’s team to work with Congress and governors to “advance a secular agenda at all levels of government, taking into account the current makeup of the federal courts and new, unfavorable precedents that your administration will have to contend with.”
In the document, the group argues that Trump has “empowered the religious right in ways no other administration has before, making significant advances in enacting their Christian nationalist agenda.”
The proposal outlines recommendations for reversing certain policies and “proactively” implementing new rules that would “restore secularism to federal governance and disentangle entrenched religious interests from federal policy.”
Some of the recommendations in the document are related to
Homeland Security policy.

House Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee said on Thursday that over 60 alleged hate groups, mostly socially conservative organizations, anti-immigration entities, and religious groups should be stripped of their tax-exempt status.

Some of the bigger organizations on the list include the fundamentalist Protestant group American Family Association, which opposes gay rights, the anti-immigration organization Federation for American Immigration Reform, the conservative think tank the Center for Security Policy, and the socially conservative group the Family Research Council. The groups were designated as “hate groups” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that itself is controversial and whose founder was fired this year for misconduct.
The Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee held a hearing Thursday focused on “How The Tax Code Subsidizes Hate,” at which Democrats said they were concerned about the government subsidizing groups that millions of Americans would find abhorrent and Republicans said they feared that First Amendment rights could be infringed ending some groups’ tax-exempt status.
The subcommittee heard from multiple victims of mass shootings, who shared their stories and asked the congressmen to take legislative action to eliminate the tax benefits given to nonprofit groups that may proliferate hate and discrimination.
No legislation has been proposed at the moment.
I’m a card-carrying member of Oath Keepers (Submarine veteran) and I gotta tell ya, I never got the memo to storm the gates in Washington. Never happened.
I signed up a decade ago, during the TEA Party protests.
Not one thing happened after that. No one ever contacted me or offered even an email form greeting.

I think it is the FBI that should be hunted down and brought to justice in court for all their crimes. While the FBI is out rounding up people who were in DC on January 6th, they let Antifa and Black Lies Matter run wild for months on end, soon to be a year.

Just had my unit’s “stand-down” for extremism yesterday. The AFOSI psychologist in the briefing video cited the ADL numerous times, and I’m actually surprised she didn’t mention the SPLC (maybe she did, but I wasn’t paying attention). They also tied it all up by mentioning “all 50 deaths in the last few years were the result of white supremacists.” Not a freaking mention about all the Chicago shooting deaths, ANTIFA riots, BLM burning neighborhoods, etc. I’m sure I have a target on my back because I’m conservative.
Organizationally, America’s worst domestic enemy is Black Lives Matter.

We MUST do something about this....naming only conservatives, to my mind, is a blatant violation of “equal protection.”
They are going after Oath keepers because if the military doesn’t step in soon they are 100,000 strong and will be the tip of the spear in a civil uprising.
