I'm old enough to remember that when the flags were at half-mast, everybody knew the reason. Usually it was when a president died.
Now they are half-mast so frequently nobody can tell you why. Here in Newtown, CT they still put the flag in the town square at half-mast for about a week on the anniversary of Sandy Hook shootings. This event happened almost 10 years ago. But lately you can't really tell because it's half-mast way more than it's raised to the top.
I'm thinking the guy who does the flag raising each morning is losing his upper body strength because he only rarely has to pull the flag all the way to the top.
Our moron, I mean Governor in Maryland just lowered flags to commemorate Frederick Douglass.
He was probably trying to override people lowering flags for Rush.
I admire Rush and Douglass. Mine remained at full staff.
