So much of the humor in those movies is completely predictable, but it is still hilarious. Classic stuff.

Funny you mention this. I was just looking for Pink Panther and Peter Sellers on YouTube last week and came across this clip and had some good laughs and memories.

Maybe it’s just me (it probably is). But I cannot enjoy any of those ‘Pink Panther’ movies. Sellers’ pretend French accent is just too hard for me to understand.
On the other hand, I understood every word Group Captain Mandrake said.

My parents (both French) found the Pink Panther series hilarious.
In my experience, the accent was exaggerated, but not that far off in many cases.

Watching Chief Inspector Dreyfus go cross-eyed and blow a gasket was always a hoot.

I liked the scene from one of the movies when he was disguised as a pirate with an inflatable parrot on his shoulder.

I always did enjoy the running Cato subplot.

A great comedic genius. The Bobo and The Party are good ones.

We saw this in a drive-in movie theater with our four kids back when it first came out. We lauged and laughed and laughed! The pre-punch-line question. “Does your dog-gee bahy-tuh?” became a family one-to-another secret signal whenever we encountered an irrational comment voiced by an outsider. 50 years later, it still causes hilarity amongst us.

Sorry... I have a sense of humor, but I don’t find “stupid” amusing. will farrell, ben stiller, steve martin, peter sellers... When you’ve had to deal with “stupid” on a regular basis, it is no longer humorous, just annoying and irritating.

People: You’ve left out the melting fake wax nose scene in the castle, Clouseau’s attempts to pole-vault across the moat, and the assassination scenes in and around the nightclub with the huge assassin with deadly boobs.
Oh, and don’t forget, the gorilla-suited police and characters in the car chase/round-about scene in “The Pink Panther”.
Sellers was priceless. He was the movie version of “Benny Hill”, the British comedian and master of disguises
KATO!!!!!!.
