I remember one day Rush was talking about Presidential tickets, and he suggested that Ted Kennedy pick Billy Carter as his running mate. Their campaign slogan could be "You Drink, I'll drive."

Then on another occasion, Rush was talking about Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg putting on blackface at the Comedy Roast, and that it didn't go over very well. Rush couldn't understand what Ted Danson saw in Whoopi Goldberg, and then he remembered that Frank Langella, who was once considered a very sexy man (back in his younger days), that Langella and Goldberg had been an item too. Rush said: You know the movie "White Men Can't Jump," well, in this case, "White Men Can't See."

Those are two of Rush's funny stories that have stuck in my head all these years. I found Rush during Desert Storm.

I don’t recall when exactly it was, but Ted Kennedy was on a jetty, I believe, and someone came close to drowning. A boat came near the jetty to rescue the person, and Ted was warning them away from the rocks. Rush made a crack about the irony of the captain of the USS Oldsmobile standing on shore, trying to keep a boat from running aground.
