Is insulting someone by calling them a “pig,” “sloth,” or “chicken” actually insulting animals? Well, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) seems to think so! In a recent tweet, they shared an infographic with alternative words to common animal-based insults such as snake (try “jerk” instead), rat (“snitch”), or pig (“repulsive”). They ask that people use these alternatives because “using animals as insults perpetrates speciesism.”

What am I going to call my piggies now? The ones that go to market and the ones who stay home and eat roast beef? Is saying “wee wee wee all the way home” out now?
It's only a problem if the animal in question understands English. How to find out? Ask them a question in English and if they give you an intelligible answer, they understand English.

Does seem to be getting worse in this country lately.
On another thread i made a sarcastic comment about the Edmondton Eskimos changing their name.
Said that teams named after animals disrespected animals and also shouldn’t be done and asked “Where’s PETA?”
Guess maybe that’s next.
