The ME’s report should, and I’ll bet does, indicate whether or not there are any signs of blunt force trauma.
I’m thinking that there’s a possibility once no signs of BFT were found, the ME was instructed to stop looking for a cause of death.

If the family went along with this...
“What do you mean he was cremated!!?? Of COURSE the autopsy is supposed to occur before the cremation!!”
The family issued a statement shortly after his death, probably down the memory hole now, that he had a medical condition and that they would like their privacy to be respected and for his death not to be politicized. So much for respecting the family’s wishes.
