OK, Alicia Keys can sing. But why did she sing that song with a lot of flat notes?

And it was pre-recorded to boot.

Not being familiar with the hymn I can’t say whether it was flat or not.

Check out “Lift Up Your Hearts and Sing” by SHOOBY TAYLOR on YouTube...

THAT should be what they’re playing..

“Lift Every Voice and Sing” was written in soft chromatic scale, not the major diatonic that most folks are accustomed to.

The “flats” are the bluesy, not pitchy.

At least H.E.R. has the decency to use pre-recorded , hopefully someone else who can sing. Also, apparently Vince Lombardi was black.

I just heard the worst National Anthem in our history. Safe to say Roseanne has climbed out of last place.

This is unwatchable. The virtual signaling is nauseating

Jazmine sang the national anthem like she was on the Soul Train Music Awards. It was terrible.

People just can’t sing the national anthem anymore. They have to torture us with their “vocal stylings.”

Of course we get accused of being racist and tone deaf if we don’t think that was a great performance. It sucked and millions of other Americans agree with us too!

I’m proud to say that I have never heard this “hymn” and will do my best to avoid hearing it in my lifetime.

The “black national anthem”? Was it before or after the actual National Anthem?
