Yes, alcohol ties up the liver sites that get harmed by ethylene glycol. In the ER they will give you an ethanol drip. I worked with a guy who got a swig of glycol when he got sprayed in the face with it as a kid and the doc just told his dad to have him drink about a 1/4 5th of Jack Daniels...
The glycol just gets bypassed out in urine then.

Jeez, never knew that either. Reminds me of the medical advice I heard in Hawaii for if you get stung by a centipede: Get drunk for 3 days. It won’t help, but it’ll make the time go by quicker. :*)))
