Ever live near Chicago? Old Style Beer. Required and awful.

We called it Old Stool. On the other hand, Heilemann's Special Export was pretty good, as I recall, at least to my 20-something palate 30-something years ago.

Heilemann’s made some decent beers.

Heilemann wiki, CHECK THIS OUT:

Historic U.S. brewing names that were consolidated into G. Heileman during its final years include : "Black Label, Blatz, Blitz-Weinhard, Drewry's, Falls City, Grain Belt, Gluek Brewing, National Bohemian, Olympia, Rainier, Christian Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt, and Wiedemann. "

Fascinating. Have had all of those but Blitz-Weinhard, Drewery's, and Gluek.

Blatz chilled to near-freezing perhaps the best fishing beer ever. Falls City got the name back in a circumvented way and still sucks. Wiedemann was palatable as the last six beers in the styro cooler filled with a hint of ice and filled to the brim with cold water.
