The 1A was specifically set up to protect unpopular speech. Classic liberals understood this. And so they vigorously defended the 1A.
But today’s leftists have chosen another approach. They’ll tell you that the 1A does not protect “hate speech”. And just what is hate speech? It’s ANYTHING they do not agree with. This is more than just wrong. It’s chilling. And it’s fascist.
