Train engineers get tired. Pipelines don’t

Pipelines do get tired if they aren't maintained. Poorly maintained gas lines usually explode, oil lines generally just leak.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pipeline_accidents (ignore the excavator accidents and other stupid human tricks on this list).

Investment banker fueled mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures of the natural gas retailer in Dallas has fueled a series of leaks and explosions in the area.

Just a small sampling of derailments below. My daughter's boyfriend's stepdad drives BNSF trains from Montana to the Washington Cascades through the north Idaho Panhandle. He drives that route along the Kootenai River described below. So many of these western rail lines snake along rivers and are subject to landslides and avalanches. This is the stupidest way to haul petroleum possible.

Of course, that won't be a problem much longer as the ComDems are going to outlaw all petroleum products. Crude oil train derailment and fire in northwest Washington state
