The biggest hindrance is what we were taught in school so long ago about the American Republic and the way it is supposed to work. Once you wrap your mind around the idea that it didn't really work that way even back then, you come to realize that America lives within you - and what happens outside of you is almost irrelevant.

I alternate between being glad that I am old and probably won’t have to see the decline and fall of this beloved country, and hoping that I live long enough to see it rise again.

The gal that wrote the article is around 40 years old. Assuming her husband is a similar age, they both have 25+ years of work left if their health holds out. I barely had a pot to p*ss in when I was 40.
Don’t know how Kickaha defines success but to me it is:
Knowing who you are, What you are doing, where you are going, enjoying the trip, and can pay for it.

I second that. Many things she said resonated with me.
What struck me the most is what she said about the state of society where there will be millions of citizens who don’t feel any loyalty from to the society they live in.
That’s going to be a gigantic paradigm shift. That’s just going to stun Democrats. They’re not going to like that at all.
And Democrats aside it’s going to pit people against each other, dividing the country further. There’s really no choice though. The other path is tolerate this abuse like nothing has happened. That just invites more abuse and wastes precious energy.

Does it have an aluminum Northstar engine? I hear there is a flaw in the cooling system (intake manifold maybe?). One you overheat an aluminum engine, it has to go on the scrapheap.
Her social security was “robbed” from her? To be fair, SS wasn’t meant to be something to retire on, but a supplemental addition against poverty. While she states that her investments in the stock market were lost, why didn’t she and her husband invest in other, more secure areas?
Make them work for the steal.
