Well, wasn't that the aim of the Butchers of Beijing, their good friends at Rat Party Headquarters and *their* good friends, the "experts"....from the very start?

Bring the US economy to its knees...thus driving Trump out of office, driving unemployment figures to Depression Era levels and thus make most of the nation's populace dependent on the "kindness of strangers" (Rat Party politicians of course).

> 90% of our debt is accounting entries on the books of the Federal Reserve.

Can you show your math?

This may very well be true, but no one is gonna sweat it until significant inflation hits. Even then, the political class tries to rectify it by expanding GDP, not by shrinking the Money Supply.

No party cares about the debt. GOP will pretend for two years until we get the house back.

From your first link:

“ When the crisis unfolded in 2010 with large budget deficits and debt maturities to be refinanced with more bond issuance, Greek bond yields soared.”

2010, not 2008 as you stated. Very different debt to GDP, political and economic situation between the US and Greece then and now.

Besides, just wait until Democrats start spending THIS year. Then you may have a better point.

Thanks for the link.

The Fed's balance sheet is about $7.4 trillion. Our national debt is over $27 trillion.

Your 90% claim is a bit off.

Sorry about it. I realize now my statement was an exaggeration. It still seems to me though that our debt situation is different from Greece. The Federal Reserve can take on debt by adding to it’s balance sheet. Greece doesn’t have this option.

Of course, in no way am I trying to justify our huge debt and deficits.
