> What excuse would there be for Pence being a “no show” <
I think it depends on whether or not Grassley takes the election fraud seriously.
Let’s say Grassley does take the fraud seriously. Then maybe Pence wants Grassley to do all the heavy lifting to help stop the fraud.
Now let’s say Grassley doesn’t take the fraud seriously. Then maybe Pence wants Grassley to take the hit for not stopping the fraud.
In either scenario Pence doesn’t look good.
Grassley was McConnell and Cornyn and Schumer’s hit man for tomorrow.
He probably still is.
Grassley’s office clarifies that he was meaning to explain what would happen if Pence had to step away during Wednesday’s proceedings to count Electoral College votes. “Every indication we have is that the vice president will be there,” Grassley’s office said.
I wonder, is Mike Pence showing a bit of his integrity? He fully expects the process to be fraught with challenges and dead soul opposition to exposing the fraud. He and Trump are the injured parties in the seditious plot, so he is stepping aside to have an ‘neutral party’ handle the process. That fits The Pence character more than these other accusations.
