Gotham’s in trouble. Not just because it’s suffering under the weight of crushing woes — soaring violence, out-of-control homelessness, a broken economy, a broke City Hall. And a population that can’t flee fast enough.
But also because none of the would-be saviors running for mayor is offering any meaningful plan to turn things around. And the primary, where the election is likely to be decided, is now less than six months away.

Aren’t there any decent even slightly center-right people to choose from in NYC?
Why?
I would have considered living there for a year if they had a Rudy-like mayor. Wouda been fun.
Indeed, they are incapable of management/leadership and frankly that's the only encouragement I have should Biden prevail. This current government has to come down and the human menagerie he's assembling will crash things in short order.
Perhaps but they likely stand no chance. I mentioned Chicago often a few years ago after Daley’s departure. He would be considered a moderate to what will follow. And look at what Chicago has now! A ghastly soul.
Same thing will happen to other cities. Walsh in Boston is not exactly a moderate or offers anything of substance but after his departure, the far-left extremists —are waiting to pounce there, too.
Cities are on the verge.
What does one pray for?
If the more “conservative” residents flee, what does that leave?
It is like the article a couple of days ago about single mom in California receiving minimal help who moved to Tennessee and was helped by private charities in Tennessee. Her thought was the government should be doing it. I am sure that is how she will be voting.
To keep as many liberals from spreading for one reason. An article a few weeks ago mentioned how New Yorkers are moving to spots such as North Carolina and of course Florida. Assuming the majority are left of center, we don’t need more states changing.
As I’m watching the once-vibrant city go to 3rd world status, I can’t muster up enough caring for voters who vote these vile liberals year in and year out. Look at ape face Andrew for instance........egotistical narcissist and still in the governors mansion! If I manage to care, I’ll let y’all know......meanwhile I’ll just see how leftist the next mayor is
You know what happened when Newsom canceled the Rose Parade?
Citizens held one anyway, a Patriots’ Rose Parade.
You know what happened when the Kaiser canceled New Years in Time’s Square?
Crickets.
I’ll pray for Gothamites when they start standing up for themselves.
The once great American cities of New York, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Seattle, Portland, an Minneapolis are either dead or almost dead.
Others, like Atlanta, Austin, Las Vegas, Denver, and many others are not far behind.
They went Socialist and "Woke" - the twin poisons.
I hope the residents finally decide to clean it up because frankly, it ain't my job. I would have flushed it long ago if given the opportunity.
The best thing that can happen is that socialism be put fully on display and maybe, just maybe, sanity will prevail and folks will discover voting for their best interests, instead of “free stuff.”
Nah. This is what NYC voters want.
I pray that all the good people escape before the deluge.
It’s going to take a lot more than my prayers to save NYC. NYC needs to repent of all the stuff it has done to get it to this point. Honestly, given the way NYC votes and the political culture that has been created, I don’t see that happening.
The same goes for my former city of Chicago.
Spot on
Born and raised in NYC. Got out of that cesspool as soon as I could. About 90% of my high school class did, too, most about 75% out of state, too.
What a SH|TH0LE.
They can Rot - the people of NYC elected these Liberal Lunatics and have complied with all of the orders coming from their Government. No one has even attempted to fight back.
Not one ounce of sympathy for NYC.
The NYP editorial board has gone full anti-Trump. I don’t weep for or listen to them.
