There is a place here that is known for chicken. One of the menu items is chicken and noodles, which are served over a bed of mashed potatoes. Here it is from the menu:
“Egg noodles with chunks of chicken and vegetables in a thick broth over mashed potatoes, with one side.”
I know people that dont like chicken and dumplings, whats up with that??!!
Sounds like someone’s old immigrant family, Depression-era recipe from the tenements of some city.

Mash potato is the “universal vegetable”. It really goes with anything. Fish, chicken, pork, beef. Other vegetables.
I’ve had that several places in the Midwest and it’s awesome.
