some jokesters in law enforcement while at choir practice in the boondocks with a campfire pull the prank of throwing a couple of live rounds in the fire to watch the uninitiated new guys run in fear while the old guys get a big laugh.. its just a demonstration of what actually happens to a live round in a fire..of course there is danger of flying brass but usually not with much force and rounds are tossed intentionally where the campfire wood is likely to stop any flying brass..umm heard it from a friend
Some fire departments do the same demonstration under more sober and sane conditions to their new firemen...
