I'm sure AOC has a good sense of liquid measurements, her economic and mathematical ability should shame the school that awarded her a degree.

Amazon has about 1,125,000 employees. 4,000 on food stamps, that's about 0.035 percent. There are close to 40 million people on food stamps out of a population of around 325 million. 12 or 13 percent. Many working people are on food stamps. That 4,000 at Amazon may well include workers who didn't work a full year. Including many on food stamps who got off after getting an Amazon job. In any case, the odds of a non Amazon American being on food stamps is about 40 times greater than that of an Amazon employee.

But it's indicative AOC's mindset and that of the left. If you're working for a living when there's free money out there, perhaps not as much as you're earning, but free, you're a deplorable. As is the employer who frees you from the misery of depending on government for your subsistance is worse.

We should instead focus our public investments + incentives on **small businesses**, like the shirts I have for sale.

“Did you ever read the book Atlas Shrugged written by Ayn Rand ??”

Not a big fan of Rand as she was a huge admirer and advocate for socialistic liberalism. Rand advocated reason as the only means of acquiring knowledge and rejected faith and religion. She supported rational and ethical egoism and rejected altruism. In politics, she condemned the initiation of force as immoral and opposed collectivism and statism as well as anarchism, instead supporting laissez-faire capitalism, which she defined as the system based on recognizing individual rights, including property rights. She was sharply critical of most philosophers and philosophical traditions known to her, except for Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas and classical liberals. She was the classic case of those that were in open conflict with the Constitution and all that represented its ideology. She was the “get yours and to hell with everyone else type of person.”

“Texas is slowing becoming the new silicon valley...”

Like I said, until enough people get hungry enough, nothing will change and California has been replacing intelligent people with uneducated work for anything illegals for over 80 years. The voting numbers don’t change and the happy with anything people stomp to the voting booths.

As for Silicon Valley, The Silicon Valley exodus is driven by a number of factors, taxes and the cost of living being two main reasons,” Elizabeth Edwards, founder of H Venture Partners, a VC firm based in Ohio said. “California’s state tax has become untenable for a lot of millionaires,” she added. “And they will continue to make informed financial choices.” Texas offers a business-friendly climate—with no corporate income tax and no personal income tax.

There are, however, 5 states that have adopted the millionaire taxes: California, Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey, New York. Washington D.C, also, but it is not a state. In the future, these will be the first of the true third world country states. California is already well on its way.

Your wall street info is really correct mainly because south Florida, especially Miami, has been targeting firms with sweet deals and promises to relocate. And it all comes down to money through state and local tax changes.

People moving to the Sunshine State saved a good deal of cash with those moving to Florida with incomes of $100,000 saved $24,649 by moving. “Higher earners also benefit by moving to Florida,” Codina Partners noted. Someone earning $200,000 can save $49,509 by moving to Florida while those earning $1 million can save $235,197 by moving to the Sunshine State. Though Miami is more liberal than most of the rest of Florida when it comes to politics and taxation, changes to the tax laws have “created a great opportunity.”

“Government Services and Pensions are not going to be cut....”

No, but they are going to be re-taxed in time. I paid taxes on my retirement earnings from Uncle Sugar for over 32 years as it was being withheld. They now want to tax it again. They also want to tax disability and that covers a lot of people in this country. I was taxed on that one upon with holding, also, the first time.

“Police Departments are being defunded and marginalized and crime is exploding....”

You’re right. But they needed a local villain to blame for the things other people did so they could show they were doing nothing about something. (That’s the way it turned out) But they had their scapegoats and now they will have to figure out how to reign the violence they created in as something other than collateral damage. Good luck with that one.

“...but it’s happening...”

It’s been happening since the 1930’s. But everyone was so pleased with the comeback from ‘29 they failed to see the scripted mediocrity of it.

Sorry about the length. I tried to entertain all your points.

I don’t know where people get this idea that companies like Walmart and Amazon have displaced high-paying jobs in local retail stores. Every local retailer in my hometown depended heavily on part-time labor that included retirees, high school kids, etc.

For what it’s worth, Walmart is actually losing market share in many areas of the U.S. Discount chains like Dollar General and Dollar Tree have built their business model on building small stores all over the place and offering lower prices in stores that are closer to their customers than Walmart could ever get with their larger stores.

What made her opposition to Amazon so ludicrous was that the company wasn’t going to get any “giveaways” from New York. They were expected to generate something like $20 billion in extra tax revenue over a period of time, and they were having that reduced by $2 billion just to get them to move the jobs there.

IF taking groceries to your Mother is taking so much time & effort-—can you NOT find a local 18 year old female that would be glad to be paid to do that????

Find a Girl Scout or a 4-H girl to do it pay her.

Or contact a local church & have them recommend someone.

She preferred to use slave labor, er InstaCart instead. Then bitch when this slave labor took too long to deliver. Bet she didn’t complain to the InstaCart customer service located in India, it’s Indian H1B app developers, or it’s management who fired all American staff and replaced the with Indians.
