I was on the section from Innsbruck, Austria going south to Italy. I had a guy pass me in a Mercedes like I was standing still.
It reminded me of when they take a normal car around Daytona Speedway going 65 mph. Then have a NASCAR pass them going 150+. It looks like they were standing still.
Autobahn style would be really nice in this country, but it would take a lot of driver education, rigorously enforced, before it could work. Picture cruising at 130 in the fast lane, when suddenly some Q-tip pulls in front of you at 70, because someone else is only doing 68. Or better yet, a semi gets into the fast lane because he’s going 65 1/4 and the truck ahead of him is only going 65 1/8.
