I have prescribed this medication many times. Unfortunately the hospital chain that I work for has decided to limit this. It is a disgrace. Perhaps one of the most irresponsible decisions I have seen, and I will fight to work around this.
Why do you think that is? Curious to know from a practicing DR.

Honest question: can ivermectin for animals be used if apportioned in human doses? It appears to be the same chemical make up.
My brother is in the ICU right now with COVID. So much for all those folks who have been denying the danger it poses for some. He is being treated with steroids, remdesivir and was given plasma antibody treatment last night and this morning.
Australia was using it early on and India has now chosen it as the preferred method. Australia has a low death rate.
WTH would they limit this drug?

I asked my primary care physician about ivermectin back in May. He was very negative, acted nervously, and I got the impression that he did not want to discuss it. I suspected that the hospital had given instructions that ivermectin was off-limits. It’s unfortunate that our system will not pursue effective early treatment for COVID that could save lives and decrease the need to hospitalize individuals.
