Greed.
It’s not even real money backed by anything.
The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.
I hate to break this to you, but pull a $20 out of your wallet. What is THAT backed by? Just the faith and confidence that its worth something. There’s no difference.
And I fail to see where “greed” enters this picture? “Risk” perhaps, but not greed.
From the article, he’s given half the money away to charity. So where is the greed? Sounds more like “envy” to me ;)
Wow you know a lot about this family from an article.
And you’re probably world renowned on bitcoin :)
What are the dollars in your pocket backed by?
Do you own a home? A car?
Do you get nice things for your kids?
Gifts at Christmas?
Not what they NEED. Not what YOU need.
But above NEED.
Then you and we are all in trouble.
One could say anything above NEED is a love of mammon.
As for me, I LOVE money. I’d sleep in it if I could :)
It’s not backed by anything but it can buy a heck of a lot of fun stuff :)
I LOVE my challenger.
But i’d LOVE a corvette even more. :)
It’s called capitalism.
Many of those who are so morally superior still thrive off of the system that we greedy people keep going.
Your welcome and Merry Christmas :)
And we should all leave the judgement to God.
He’s better at it.
All major currencies are fait currencies. They are not backed by an underlying tangible assets.
To the Left, it’s more white privilege.
Neither is the dollar, bro.
LOL.
“ It’s not even real money backed by anything.”
You just described the US dollar.
Good for them. I wish I had bought more then the 4 Bitcoin I did.
$20 dollars used to be equivalent to a 1-ounce gold coin. Now the US Federal Reserve “prints” dollars at will. At least the supply of Bitcoin cannot be inflated away.
“It’s not even real money backed by anything.”
The US dollar is nothing more than a fiat currency that is backed by nothing but the collective belief that it has value.
If/when that changes then you won’t be able to buy a sheet of toilet paper with $100 trillion dollars.
The US dollar is backed by nothing, except people's confidence in the US government. Despite the debt, the deficits, the insane government policies and leaders.
Bitcoin is also backed just by confidence - in cryptocurrencies. But you can't print an endless supply.
