I'd say that if a quantity is sufficient to kill you, that qualifies as "overly large".

LSD is active at 1/10th of a milligram (100 micrograms) and one whole milligram (1000 mics) is sufficient to send any normal person over the edge for a few days (though not kill them, usually).

"Large" is all relative. :-)

And sufficient silver turns you into a candidate for the Blue Man Group. Let's not forget that.
