A “fit and healthy” teenage wrestler in England has died within hours of being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Cameron Wellington, a 19-year-old professional wrestler from Walsall, tested positive for the virus on Nov. 10, but his condition quickly took a turn for the worse, Birmingham Mail reported.
“Cam was adamant he was fine but I could tell (something was wrong). The color was draining from him,” his mother Jane Wellington told the outlet.
He was rushed to the hospital Wednesday with breathing problems — and doctors said he “wasn’t expected to last an hour

My guess is steroids.
A student at App State who was a distance runner died from neurological damage after contracting Covid.
Doesn’t look like he missed a whole lot of meals, either...
> He underwent another procedure for his heart Thursday but died shortly after the operation.
What was wrong with his heart?
Sounds like it damaged his heart. That can happen with COVID.
Being overweight isn’t being “fit and healthy”
It’s pretty much the opposite.
His picture is at the site and his mom said he was overweight but fit and healthy.
Still A horrible thing and I feel very bad for the family.
That it’s news shows how rare the virus takes someone that age.
Poor kid.
So exceedingly rare that we know the poor fellow’s name.
RIP.
Cam was overweight but he was fit and otherwise healthy,” his mother said

Well there you go. Mom has spoken.
19 year pro wrestler?
Obesity...................

Are our hospitals filled with young adults battling the Chicom flue? No. The Chicom flu is hitting the usual suspects and the elderly. There will always be a few outliers with any illness. Your distance runner from App State is one of them. Basing policy on those few unfortunates is a fools errand.
[My guess is steroids.]
If the pic was recent, he was doing steroids wrong.
He probably had pre existing heart issues.
That, or we should shut everything down and destroy society.
That was my guess as well. Judging from the picture, I think I'm looking at a 5'10", 245 lb. (or 17.5 stone) lad. Not the best recipient of COVID.
Tragic - but, very rare in the USA.
According to CDC data, the fatality rate for persons under age twenty is 3 per 100,000.
I agree that obesity isn’t healthy, and it seems to be one of the main factors in outcome in older coronavirus patients, but the overwhelming majority of obese 19-year-olds will survive coronavirus just fine and go on to have a chance to turn their lifestyle around. Young man was very unlucky. RIP.
Very unlucky and a horrible story.
Just a kid.
And the story will be used to show that even healthy teens can get it...even if the odds are incredibly miniscule.
