FATE, TX—Local libertarian man Gabriel Parton read yet another headline today about how the 2020 election was illegitimate. While Republicans nodded solemnly at the headline and Democrats screamed in rage, Parton reacted the way he does to everything: he just smiled smugly.
"Actually," he said as a friend told him that the 2020 election was illegitimate, "all elections are illegitimate. Every election is simply the majority imposing their will on the minority through the threat of force, and as such is a violation of the non-aggression principle. I never consented to this election, and I am now being detained under the results of this election against my will." He looked off into the distance, his smug look only intensifying. "I never signed your mythical 'social contract' saying I would abide by the rules of people voting for immoral politicians every four years."

Elections: orchestrated by The Man to keep us down!
DANG!
They had me fooled for a second.
Parton was either born into or chose to participate in the social contract. He is free to leave if he doesn’t like it, but he is not free to unilaterally change the social contract. The social contract has a mechanism for change built it. Libertarians like this guy are as bad as libs that want to change the definition of “militia” or “natural-born” from what they meant at the founding.
D’Oh! Babylon Bee, lol.
It’s satire, BTW.
Babylon Bee struck again...
Yep, see post 5.
“I told you. We’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune.”
“But I am your King!”
“Well, I didn’t vote for you!”
No joke though, if 55% of the people want to force an evil system on the other 45%, they have inalienable rights to seek a different outcome. In this case, 30% want to impose it on the other 70%.
I fell for it almost until the end...
Legitimacy and “policies of non-aggression” have nothing to do with each other.
He can not recognize the election and think it’s unfair, that does not make it illegitimate, no matter how many idiots “nod solemnly”
Every law that expressly violates the limits put in place by the Constitution, whether some black robed judicial priest approves or not, is exactly that though... An arbitrary change to the Social Contract.
Ask a gun owner who has been tried and convicted of a "process crime"... Or Vicky and Sammy Weaver if you can find them...
“An arbitrary change to the Social Contract.”
Are you assuming that all past violations by any party simply get a pass?
Before I saw it was from the Bee I almost told him to give the weed a rest for awhile.
