Except for clearing brush in a controlled burn, I don’t see any practical use for a flamethrower. People get carried away with the Comic Book level novelty of having one.
If these are easy to obtain, expect to see some group like Antifa or BLM using one against police one day.
For those who are defending stores and other property from looters they would be a supreme deterrent, likely even more so than a display of firearms.
