Like Willy Nelson, love the Stones music. But STFU. What an @$$wipe.
I saw the Rolling Stones at RFK Stadium back in the early 70s, they were terrible. I saw him in the 80s they were still terrible sounding. I don’t know if it’s their live concerts venues that make them sound so bad live or if they’re just better suited as Studio musicians.
I don’t deny that there is a hype but I prefer to think of it is hyperbole rather than hyperactive reaction.
I never was a big Beatle fan either, but one of the most weirdest musical things to come out of the sixties IMHO was the Sergeant Pepper’s album, lauded for its ground breaking studio creativity, and then the Rolling Stones kind of duplicating a sergeant peppery thing of their own called... something like...his satanic majesties request (or some other drivel).
I just thought that was freaking weird. Screaming mobs of “girks”, the whole scene was soooo contrived. Like politics has become. Farcical.
