That was a very different world, different tech, etc.
I don’t think the Courts - especially the Supreme one - can afford to stand down, without losing credibility in a way that would tear the country apart even worse.
People will revolt if the court does not do it’s job.
This is a fight for rule of law.
Without rule of law, the court may as well hang.
I think they will count on republicans being “civil “ and know what the other side will do so won’t take it up. I pray I am wrong.
