The tech companies probably don’t want to PAY enough for American workers!! These kids are coming out of college seriously in debt and they need to make enough to support themselves!! These tech companies are used to paying for CHEAP LABR!!

Almost nobody wants to do anything.

We are decades from actual artificial intelligence.

What we have now is at best limited simulated intelligence.

Perhaps if universities were focused on actually teaching STEM subjects instead of rubber stamping work visas for foreigners...

The real reason they like to hire Asians: American kids are graduating with worthless diplomas because the schools are all passing kids who should not pass rather than admit that our culture is breeding lazy little brats who don’t apply themselves.

Not all STEM degrees. Mine is in Chemistry. But I would not get that degree unless you want to do biomedical work.

not enough workers.

BS. There are millions of under- or unemployed American STEM graduates. Big Tech needs to stop discriminating against older workers and Americans.

Umm not exactly, it is far more advanced than you know. Here's a little insight:

https://www.sciencealert.com/it-took-4-hours-google-s-ai-world-s-best-chess-player-deepmind-alphazero

There are few, if any grandmasters who can beat stockfish, the world's most advanced chess program on the planet. Google's AlphaZero learned the game in 4 hours, and developed attacks, and was very creative in it's attacks and clobbered stockfish. There's one man on the planet who might be able to beat stockfish, but it's doubtful he could do it consistently, but this AI program is undefeated against several grandmasters, whom have chosen to remain anonymous.

In top gun school, a human pilot and an AI controlled F-18's engaged in dogfights, AI won 5 - 0. I doubt we even know what the best AI systems are capable of, these are just the publicly available information on AI.

There is no skills-gap, other than missing the skill of being cheap, indentured labor.

No, I am well versed in the technology.

I’m not talking about games.
