The pictures in the posts on this thread should be hysterical by the morning.

It would remind me of the 1970’s-era Asteroid game, in Advanced mode.

Come on now!
You have to have at least a partially built Death Star!

If I don’t see at least one from the laser battle in “Moonraker”, I’m going to be mightily disappointed in this place. lol

That article was surprisingly boring. They are envisioning space warfare as 19th century sea battles. I think, by the time it happens, speed and maneuverability will have advanced quite a bit.

...slow, calculated, and deliberate. Interesting. I thought it would be very quick -- major battles involving beam weapons and high-precision marksmanship, over in seconds.

That’s soooo accurate! I’m going with that for sure.

The laws of physics haven’t changed. Of course, we can expect optimal tactics, and strategy, to be vastly different than on the surface of the earth, and who knows what the X-37b has been up to?
For instance, imagine a war between hyper-advanced civilizations conducted at the center of a star, or at the center of a black hole. Would the tactics be different? Vastly, inconceivable so!
To: vmpolesov
Er, I don’t even want to know how.
