A mask ensures that CO2 and other expired waste pool at the location of respiration. Further, the moist dark surface of the interior of a mask provides an excellent substrate for bacteria and fungus growth.
When I worked in a lab, one of the methods used to euthanize animals was CO2 asphyxiation, from the sublimation of dry ice in a closed container. Prolonged mask wearing may replicate the technique, just using a lower concentration of CO2 and a longer time of exposure.
Very interesting. Did a lot of people wear masks in 1918-1919? One thing is people often died just a day or two after getting symptoms.
Regarding masks, I stood in a 30 minute line to vote today. The line was outside, As we moved up the line, we all removed our masks until we got to the building, then donned them. Had a nice conversation with a couple of people in line.
And yes, I voted - straight R (except the city commissioners that had no political party allegiance).
So it is creating an incubator in the tract and from there its just a matter of time?
Nasties got nowhere to go?
And this is known by medical community?
