I think you’re probably right about that!! I’m not a traffic engineer, and I don’t even play one on TV, but looking at some of the traffic snarls I’ve experienced, circles make sense in a twisted, psychotic sort of way.

And to think we have you Brits to thank for it:

In the circle, vehicles are moving. Objects in motion tend to remain in motion, so the chance of major dead-stopped incidents is reduced.

On the other hand, the vehicles are moving relatively slowly, and at acute angles to one another, rather than right angles, so if they collide, the damage to people and vehicles is reduced. Take to that, physics!

I almost LOL’d at Jake yowling through the house. I mean, that’s what cats are for! Comic relief.

The dog barking has only been since Tom has been too ill with dementia to take him out or let him out on the leash. The neighbor, however, cleans house at night. I’ve tried to be respectful of her since I moved in. Life is different here.

Now I’m going to go sort pills.

I have to sort vitamins only once a week, or less frequently if there are days I forget to take them.

Jake has probably found a warm spot to catball. Shannon has come in to eat, and then she’ll go back out and wait for something to kill.

Almost time to roust out the yutes. James was late yesterday morning, so they get called five minutes earlier today.

I guess I should say, “James arrived late,” as the other phrasing could be taken another way ;-).

I sort pills once a week, as well, and that’s on Tuesday. CFIDS dictates that I stick to a routine as much as possible in order to function as normally as possible. Anything (even minor things) out of the routine sets me at odds with the world. Not my doing.

I’m still missing vital supplements that won’t be here until Thursday, including BP meds, so all I can do is hope the consequences are minor.

Catballs are the best! I miss all of my cats, more as I age. I think they will be out of the question, though, much as they would be beneficial to my BP, because my DiL is allergic, I think. Or she just uses it as an excuse because she doesn’t like them.

Have you ever thought about all those people in flying cars descending on the same parking lot at the same time?

If you thought coming in from multiple entrances was bad ...

Good morning. Happy Tuesday.

I will be voting at some point today. I have to coordinate with Mrs. ArGee so the puppy won’t be alone.

I dropped my ballot last week and on checking this morning, it has been counted.

She suggested around 8:30 that I just go. So I did. No lines. No waiting. Zip-zop-done.

I can’t imagine why. SOMEBOY has to keep track of where we are.

Somebody who can do maths, that is.

Unlike someone who looks at x88 and thinks we’re close.

Not naming any of my names or anything.

I just had a thought. If people have been moving out of cities due to COVID and crime and riots and such, I wonder if those concentrated vote totals will be more distributed and mixed in with suburban and rural voters.

It could make for an interesting vote result.

I can’t do maths. I was suffering with Rheumatic fever when I was in the third grade, during the crucial part of multiplication and division of the maths. I missed a lot of the processes. Then, as I got to my first job, I learned only because I had an adding machine (still quite a few years away from hand-held calculators) and then as I got into jobs that dealt strictly with cash it was much better because of the calculator, but then I got sick with CFIDS and now, the bank I have takes the money out immediately when I write a check, or I couldn’t have a bank account. I can’t write a check at the grocery store, for instance, because it requires an “authorization” number. Without it, the check won’t be accepted.

So no, no maths. I still can’t balance a checkbook.

What I’m seeing is that the Dems in general are so disheartened in the party as a whole that they’re leaving it in droves. Whether to the Republicans or the Libertarians or just not voting won’t be clear until the end of today.

But the voting base just isn’t there for a Dem win. IMHO, of course.

No line at my poll, either, although it was busy. Lots of things to vote on, though, which meant filling in squares with a ball-point pen.

I got a new pen out of it, though, because Covid.

Also, it’s a nice walk on the new sidewalks, and someone driving in the new traffic circle even stopped for me when I was waiting to cross. And I went by a man walking his dogs who called me a “sweet young lady” when I said his dogs had pretty coats.

There’s common phraseology drifting about the premises in the vein of leaving things until “Someone Else ends up doing it,” or “making more work for Someone Else,” and I get advised to “Delegate that to Someone Else”...

Surveying the general outcome of these exchanges, I’ve ruminated on the idea of changing my first and middle names to “Someone Else.”
