Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God. Vanity

This is an appropriate reminder considering the state of the Union.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” – Thomas Jefferson

“When a government betrays the people by amassing too much power and becoming tyrannical, the people have no choice but to exercise the original rights of self defense – to fight the government.” – Alexander Hamilton

“The ultimate authority resides in the people, and that if the federal government got too powerful and overstepped its authority, then the people would develop plans of resistance and resort to arms.” – James Madison

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” – Thomas Jefferson

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing Government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it.” – Abraham Lincoln

“We, the people are rightful masters of both Congress and the courts – not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” – Abraham Lincoln

“We need a revolution every 200 years, because all governments become stale and corrupt after 200 years.” – Ben Franklin

“What country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.” – Thomas Jefferson

The Ben Franklin quote is suspect. Got an original source for that one?

Not really. Governments get stale every 200 years? No, not necessarily. And not if there is the ability to change government through elections or checks and balances as exists with ours.

To call for a revolution every 200 years just because, is not something Ben Franklin would have supported. In fact if you read the Declaration of Independence they cautioned against overturning existing political structures without good cause...

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations..."

It's antifa, BLM and anarchists who want a revolution. What I and other conservatives want is the corruption out of government and the constitution followed. You won't get that from just overturning the government. You need to articulate what you would do different and nobody I've seen calling for revolution does that.

Even Democrats agreed with that principle. Of course, they were Democrats of the old order:

“Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of the citizen to bear arms is just one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.” — Hubert Humphrey, taken from ‘A Liberal Democrat’s Lament,’ by Robert Cottrol, American Enterprise Institute. Statement made in 1960.

“The purposes of the Second Amendment “include self-defense, hunting, sport, and some certainly would say, as would I, the protection of individual rights against a potentially despotic central government.” Senator Russ Feingold’s statement before the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights Subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee, September 23, 1998.

“... By calling attention to a well-regulated militia for the security of the Nation, and the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fear of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the 2nd amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationship, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the 2nd Amendment will always be important.”
— John F. Kennedy

Really? There is a percentage of our government that is selling America down the drain. This isn’t about Antifa. This is happening within our government. When I say revolution I say revolt to those in power that are not following the tenants of the Constitution.

I’m all for revolution at the ballot box to put honest and hard working people in office to root out corruption.

And I’m for review and improvement of checks and balances and increased transparency.

But the system itself isn’t broke and doesn’t need overthrowing. Just tweaking.

And it’s incumbent on anyone calling for revolution to say what they would do different.

The main problems in our democracy that I see, is that our people are not educated and don’t discern between candidates on the basis of policies and character. And that our media is owned and biased and does not provide good information to our people.

And uneducated public is going to elect bad actors no matter what system you have.

Hell no. I’m calling for a revolution by the people to get off their asses, wake up get involved and change this mess.

An example is the undecideds right now. A month before the election some voters make an effort to understand who they are voting for but many keep their head up their asses up until Election Day. If they vote at all. Generally speaking we see how ignorant our electorate really is. Only ~30% understand what’s really going on.

The revolution is starting in the way folks see things. I believe there is going to be hell to pay for these crooks including the media. Majority of people get their news from the alphabet stations. When, not if, this is all exposed the general population is going to be shocked and pissed.

You use God’s name. Then instead of quoting the bible, you quote men.

God says “do not speak evil of a ruler of the people”.
God sets up / takes down rulers.
He gives people the leaders they deserve.

You want the swamp to be drained? You have to start with the repentance of voters... Stop calling evil good and good evil.

Yes the Dems doing exactly this, and some Reps as well. No, Trump or any other person is perfect.

Unfortunately, just changing the ruler does not change the heart of the people.

I praise God he allowed Trump to be elected. I go before Him in prayer every day to confess we as a nation are still doing evil, but out leader (Trump) is trying, by for example moving the embassy in Israel, fighting sex trafficking, nominating judges that are not part of the cult of death, etc.

Pray Hard, Keep Praying. Vote.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” – Thomas Jefferson"

Thank you for referencing Thomas Jefferson manager. Note that Jefferson had also warned against citizen apathy concerning their government.

“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” —From Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, 16 January 1787.

Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government desperate Democrats home in November!

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.

I don’t see any problem with voting Republican ticket for 2020 elections.

Insights welcome.

Even if it is accurate, we're off by a decent ways. Nearly 50 years late, or 25% of the target time!

I agree with what you have written here. Revolution is called for only after all these Constitutional remedies have failed, but both are not mutually exclusive. We can not simply choose one or the other.

Revolutions against a sitting government are a bloody business; and in the end are successful when the police and military that defend the tyranny refuse to obey orders to massacre their own people with superior armament. It also took an organized and coordinated effort by the Continental Army led by Washington with ordinance equal to the British to win.

Important as both political and hit and run guerilla tactics were to success of the American Revolution it was the Continental Army that accepted Cornwallis surrender at Yorktown. Revolutions are begun by individual citizens with their personal arms but the greatest weapon they have is a willingness to shed their own blood for a reason larger than themselves. Although we may not have yet reached this point, vigilance, and preparation is advised.

Today we face the threat of the Red Storm Troops we call Antifa taking control of the streets, burning our businesses, and continuing intimidation raids into our own neighborhoods. These are S.O.P. Marxist tactics to neutralize the police and local governments, then in the final stages to occupy ratio/TV stations, government offices and utilities. This effort will go on after the election and should be resisted community by community.

The web site for CPUSA (Communist Party U.S.A.)is reminding its members to prepare for the aftermath of the election regardless of outcome. Their plan is to raise the level of violence where we live and move to the next stage. Please check this out for yourselves.

While continuing every Constitutional and political freedom open to us; we are wise to prepare to defend our homes, our neighborhoods and our communities against the revolution being waged against us NOW by our bitter Marxist enemies.

Their plan to destabilize and overtake America has never changed: Top Down-(government), Bottom-up-(the streets Antifa), Inside-Out-(You and I)).

The problem is, someday the left IS going to be in control. That is why so many guns are being bought.
