This may have slipped by her until it was too late. In any event, I will bet she has read many opinions that used the term 'sexual preference" rather than "orientation" and that could have been her response.
If it were left solely to "orientation", those who enjoyed "same sex" sex wouldn't dress in "same sex" attire. Further, it is obvious a bi-sexual is not "oriented" one way or the other but has a range of preference.

So true. All the RINOs spent decades “reaching across the aisle” in Congress and apologizing to the Black Caucus and retracting the wrong word on a TV statement. Or admitting to marching in the Columbus Day Parade ten years ago instead of the new Indigenous Peoples’ Day one.
On the defensive they looked like criminals out on parole whom society now barely tolerated. Jeb Bush and Kasich are examples.
