Our Australian Shepard is busy keeping my feet warm under the desk.
Now that’s a trained dog!
I owned one Australian Shepard a very smart dog
“I owned one Australian Shepard a very smart dog”
We have lived with Australian Shepherds forever.
All of them, intelligent and skilled in different ways.
That said, I believe that most dogs are smarter than most people would think.
Yes, like grunts there some slow ones...
We have been fortunate in that ours have been very good companions, and traveled well too.
Nice job, but a cowboy could have done the same with less risk that the dog would have been scared enough to jump or slip.
Watched a tree trimmer cut down a tree today. It took him almost 30 minutes to gear up, harness etc.
Climbed tree in a minute, had it totally cut down in 5. Him and another had it thrown in a dump trailer in another 5 minutes.
I could have down the same without spending 30 minutes putting on harness and spikes to climb.
It was a simple job, but they made it look technical and expensive.
I live in Natchez. To quote Joementia Biden, it was a big Fn Deal. LOL
Good doggy...
My Brother owned two. Smart Doggies.
5 mins? Must have been one heck of a small tree. A tree trimmer took out the 80 foot tree behind our house two years ago. Harnessed up in about 5 mins, but it took him about 6 hours to take the tree all the way down. And he was working non-stop.

Our Pug is licking my ankle.......I must taste very good....lol
Been there. Any dog that’s bright and travels well is a dog to cherish, regardless of breed. But I’ve known a couple Aussies, and they’re a breed apart.
Was it a Pibble?
Those dogs LOVE to climb.
Yes, it was a small spindly tree. Wasnt even 30ftt high, no limbs. I dont know what type of tree, but all branches grew up against tree.
I felt bad for the homeowners, because what was done was all for show.
Having a tree climber to cut down trees is a beautiful thing, but dont use it to gauge a client.
The tree wasnt thick enough to damage anything, if it was cut off at ground level.
I am a carpenter...I thought it was a bit of theatre to charge more
Abraham Lincoln once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
Did they use electric chain saws?
A neighbor had a large tree split and all but the largest saws they used were battery powered!
I could have cut down that tree with my battery operated sawsall in less time that they made the production last.
I built a little over 1000 feet of wood fence this week, 2 workers and my self, I like to think I know something about production and efficiency.
I worked less than 40 hours this past week.
I invoiced for more than $30,000
The workmen’s comp insurance for tree trimmers is higher than roofers.
The workmen’s comp insurance for tree trimmers is higher than roofers.
The last time I did a payroll for roofers, the WC was 105% of the gross paycheck. That was 28 years ago.
I learned over the years that if My Dogs don't like somebody then that person is not to be Trusted.
I've even gotten a Home Care Nurse replaced because not only did I not like the Nurse, neither of My Girls liked her as well. So audiopus, by-by,etc.
