Recently, Scientific American endorsed Joe Biden for president. They claimed that Trump is a science denier, as shown by his response to the COVID crisis. As such, they deemed Trump unfit to care for U.S. citizens: The evidence and the science show that Donald Trump has badly damaged the U.S. and its people because he rejects evidence and science.
Nonsense. Science doesnt show anything. Scientists do. And scientists are like the rest of us biased and contentious. Exhibit A: Scientific American.
We often think of scientists as dispassionate observers a unique type of person who observes, thinks, and makes claims with a method and technique that others do not. Scientists often demonstrate interesting and useful things, but they are not super-human observers. As Logan Paul Gage says in his new online course How Science Became a Religion, Scientific theories do not emerge automatically from pristine data not everyone draws the same conclusions from the same data set. Their scientific methodology is just a way of testing an idea that they have. In other words, at their best, they make and test arguments. And in Scientific American, the unnamed editors make a bad and untested one.

The editors argue that, in contrast to Trump, testing and tracking people is how Europe and Asia have gained control over their outbreaks, saved lives, and successfully reopened businesses and schools. But this is not true. The New York Times even recently made note of this. England, for example, spent $20 million on new testing and it didnt work. They are back in quarantine, disallowed to be in groups larger than six people. Meanwhile, Trump has spent billions of dollars on testing.

“Scientific” American.
They should rename:
POLITICAL SCIENTIFIC UNAMERICAN...................
Science has become irreparably political.
I love how Trump is both an idiot, and a global evil genius at the same time.
If only there was a word for holding two contradicting ideas at the same time...
I always find the term “science denier” is hilarious when it comes from people who think that there are 57 “genders”, and that there are no differences between men and women.
Testing and contact tracing can work if you have a handful of cases and can isolate the carriers and his/her contacts very quickly. Once you have more than a thousand cases, that is just a fool’s errand and it is impossible to contain it. If the disease spreads asymptomatically, then it really is an ultra fool’s errand.
Speaking of which, what happened to the notion that COVID was unique in it’s asymptomatic contagion? Was that ever confirmed or refuted? It sure faded away as an issue.
It appears that ‘science’ among the Left has become a herd mentality or group think rather than actual science.
Scientific American has no issues with the "Climate Change" hoaxers not releasing the raw data feeding their "Hockey Stick" graph.
Scientific American has yet to publish how you're XX or XY and that men are men and women are women.
Scientifc American also hasn't explained how COVID-19 is such a strange virus that rioters and the politicians who support them are immune to its effects and don't need to wear protective masks or maintain distance from each other.
I stopped reading that rag in the mid ‘60s. When I went to graduate school in the late cretacious my parents thought that I should have some sort of exposure to current events so they offered to buy me a subscription to Time. I told them to spend their money on a NRA membership and BTW I wanted the American Rifleman not the hunter. They bought me subscriptions to both Time and US News and World report.
This mag was once a respected scientific magazine. It is now a politically correct rag, with every article pushing at least one leftist dogma.
“It appears that science among the Left has become a herd mentality or group think rather than actual science.”
Oddly they made it magical also.
Well, liberals don’t know science and are terribly uneducated, so their emotions will be what they use.
Cut the charade, Scientific American. Just rename yourself Political American and be done with it.
The Rats have been buying the scientists off for years. Need a report showing global warming???? Bam! Need a report showing ocean levels rising?? Whamo!! How about research showing hydrocloroquine is ineffective with COVID???? The paper will be published tomorrow!!!!!
The Rats and their bought scientists are a fake as a $13 bill.
