Polk County. My Parents were born in Allegany County, New York State.My sister and I were born in Cattaraugus County, New York State. My sister and her husban moved their family to Lakeland, Polk County, FL in 1972, and have lived there ever since. My parents retired and moved to Lakeland, Polk County in 1961, and passed away there. I have visited there too numerous times to count. and found it quite accommodating to Western New York Southern-Tiers-folk, and last I knew there is an Allegany County. NY Reunion Day every year.

I have been retired and lived here in Delaware for a long time, but I'm still a New Yorker in heart. But if I wished to re-retire to Florida, that's where I would go.

I can exercise my Constitutional rights there without fear, and this Sheriff has confirmed it once more. For several years, I possessed a Florida CCDW license obtained from the Sheriff's office there, and am sure I could do that once more without hesitation.

If you are a liberal, an aficiado of gun control, a wrong-thinking Democrat, a clinger to Anti-fascist and/or BLM philosophy, please don't think of moving there. I don't think you'll be welcomed there at all. No one I know there will. Moving there is one of the reasons people have left the blue-turning counties of the north, especially from Western NY State.
