I grew up in Chicago, on the north side of the city, just a few miles from that neighborhood. We knew it as “Lakeview.” Later it became known informally as “Boystown,” but first in a derisive way, because of all the homos there. I don’t like to call it “Boystown,” but for a different reason than why they are changing it.
