Maryland to allow all businesses to reopen, including movie theaters and concert venues

All businesses in Maryland will be allowed to reopen with some capacity restrictions starting later this week, Gov. Larry Hogan (R) announced Tuesday.

Hogan's order to move into the third phase of reopening starting Friday includes movie theaters and indoor concert venues, which will be able to reopen at a maximum 50 percent capacity or 100 people, whichever is smaller.

Outdoor venues will be allowed to operate with a maximum of 200 people, and houses of worship will be allowed to expand capacity to 75 percent.

Local governments will be allowed to keep the current restrictions in place for longer if they choose, Hogan said during a press conference.

The order is aimed at allowing more businesses to open for the Labor Day weekend, but Hogan cautioned that residents should not let their guards down.

"Moving into stage three does not mean this crisis is behind us, and we must remain vigilant so we can keep Maryland open for business," he said.

No, that was the mayor of Philadelphia. Some friend of his has a restaurant in Maryland.

But, Larry Hogan (Maryland gov) is a NeverTrumper RINO jackass.

“Larry Hogan (Maryland gov) is a NeverTrumper RINO jackass.”

Its like Pro Wrestling - they just pretend to hurt each other. President Trump never seems too upset when Hogan distances himself or criticizes the President. It is rhetoric - showmanship, in my opinion. They pull together whenever really needed.

Hogan is a real outlier to get elected in Maryland - a Democratic Party stronghold. Not only did he snatch a powerful Governorship away from the Dems, he also maintains huge favorability in Maryland. He knows what is needed in that market.

Isn’t this so very special? The Government is actually giving their blessings for the people to pursue Life Liberty and Happiness? I sincerely hope that the good citizens remember to get on their knees and show complete and total gratitude for such undeserved generosity. Such a glorious day!

Does this include bars that might have live entertainment?

#7. Oh, you mean “The Block”, the stripjoint area on Lombard Street right behind the Baltimore Police Department headquarters?

Guess the Mafia will still get their cut from those businesses. Might ask Nancy Pelosi about it.

No, I actually meant liquor establishments that have bands performing to bring in customers. Kind of like smaller music venues that get a little crowded when these sometimes unknown bands perform.

The Block barely exists anymore. The real estate became far too valuable for sleazy sex bars.

Exactly! This can’t be allowed to happen again.

Hogan gave local governments the option of continuing stricter restrictions.

He also kept the mask rules in place. So much for living in the “Free State”.

The bars we went to for my bachelor party were sleazy, the women un attractive except for one beauty who was a good acrobat, and the drinks were $5 for soda or something else.

Don’t think they’d rate 5 Stars on any travel guide to Baltimore.

NJ is doing the same with indoor dining this weekend, but it is really being done because the teachers are making it clear classrooms can’t be safe while other businesses aren’t.

They’ll probably lock down again for winter break (when teachers wouldn’t be in school anyway)...
