Good luck to Sean Compton, a winner at everything he does!
How a new nightly three-hour news program might shake up media
What do we know about this outfit, aside form the fact it’ll be demonized by the Left immediately?
It’s not CNN, MSNBC or FoxNews. That’s the only fact I need.
8 to 11 pm ET if anyone is wondering.
I’ll give it a shot......
CHICAGO (NewsNation) — Inspiring viewers and readers to think, not how to think. That’s the foundation of NewsNation.
The nightly three-hour broadcast will air from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. (ET) on WGN America, offering fact-based, balanced news coverage in prime-time.
NewsNation Now will provide that same level of coverage 24/7 with the NewsNation Now app. We’ll bring you breaking news alerts, livestreaming video and in-depth reporting with the power of Nexstar Media Group’s 5,400 journalists in 110 local newsrooms across the country.
On the NewsNation Now app and NewsNationNow.com, you can easily find news from your part of the country in the “Your News, Your Nation” zones. Our team of zone managers are dedicated to finding stories from your regions of the nation.
In addition to the backbone of our NewsNation affiliates across the country, our fully staffed Chicago-based newsroom will be covering the top stories in the United States and International news around the clock.
NewsNation has bureaus in New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Miami and Dallas.
On-air, the team is led by veteran journalists and weekday anchors, Joe Donlon and Marni Hughes, breaking news anchor, Rob Nelson, and chief meteorologist, Albert Ramon, who collectively bring nearly 80 years of experience in television news to their roles and have covered everything from Presidential elections to hurricanes and the current coronavirus pandemic. The weekend NewsNation team will be led by anchors Rudabeh Shahbazi and Nichole Berlie, breaking news anchor, Aaron Nolan, and meteorologist Gerard Jebaily.
NewsNation is overseen by Jennifer Lyons, a media industry executive with 30 years of newsgathering and production experience, who serves as Vice President of News for WGN America.
“We’re adding more than 130 NewsNation staff members to the 5,400 Nexstar journalists already reporting from local communities across the U.S.,” Lyons said. “We have assembled extraordinary teams both in front of and behind the cameras. They are true journalists coming together with a clear mission: Your News, Your Nation. I think you’re going to learn so much about our country through them.”
For months, NewsNation has been working on ensuring to deliver a newscast from the heartland, with local perspectives to create a fact-based and unbiased national news platform.
“We will be presenting news in a way that is free of any particular point of view as we debut NewsNation on September 1 and we are confident that there are more Americans than ever who are seeking just that,” said Nexstar’s president and CEO Perry Sook.
NewsNation values the feedback of our viewers and readers, and we’ll share those perspectives in our nightly broadcast.
WGN America reaches 75 million television households on cable and the broadcast will be available to stream without a cable subscription on the NewsNation Now app for a limited time.
Looks like a pretty racially diverse team. Obviously a bunch of racists right, Nanzi?
Some of “us” do our own research.
Here’s a clue: Nexstar Media Group.
At long last. I wish it great success. Better no look like a DNC Zoom convention, though.
Another explanation here that may help:

...and?
Nothing for me but I do live in the boonies. No cable here.
App details
Stream NewsNation nightly at 8 to 11 p.m. ET — free for the month of September.
So after Sept it's time to pay? That's about as useless as Fox Nation. Like I want to pay to see more of the Greg Gutfeld crew.
No thanks! One of their FEATURED stories...
“Niecy Nash announces surprise wedding to singer Jessica Betts”
Niecy as in Carol marries Jessica. Jessica “looks like” a man, but SHE is not.
Never heard of either one and never want to again. THIS is your new “go to” conservative news outlet?
Tune in Liz Wheeler on OAN 9 pm weekdays
NewsNation is an American news program that will broadcast on WGN America beginning September 1, 2020. The three-hour-long, nightly news program will offer non-partisan coverage, primarily utilizing the journalistic resources of Nexstar Media Group's 110 television news operations (among its 197 owned-and/or-operated stations nationwide).[1] The neutral broadcast is designed to compete with mainly opinion-based news programs shown on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News Channel during the 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time timeslot.
The genesis of the project was in October 2019, when Nexstar management commissioned viewer research that showed that people were dissatisfied with opinion-based programming on the cable news channels.[2] CNN, which had previously shown straight news programming during the evening, moved into personality-based programming under the leadership of Jeff Zucker,[3] while MSNBC and Fox News have shown personality-based evening programming since the cancellation of The News with Brian Williams and the Fox Report. Originally codenamed Project Neutral, on January 15, 2020, Nexstar announced the program, a few months after the closing of an acquisition with Tribune Media. The program will replace acquired entertainment programming and movies that occupied the prime time hours, and will be the first national news effort to use WGN America as a platform since it carried the similarly formatted 1980–90 syndicated program Independent Network News under former parent Tribune's ownership (as the superstation feed of WGN-TV).[4][5] Because NewsNation replaces syndicated programming scheduled to expire, the cost is neutral to Nexstar.[6]
Nexstar has hired "rhetoricians" to monitor the language used to describe events for neutrality
We shall see
I didn’t say a word about a “new conservative news outlet.”
I can make up my own mind if I have the facts. At least this is a start and not like the garbage hurled at us daily on Foxnews and CNN.
Three hours?
"Brevity is the soul of wit." Who has three hours to watch a new program? Huntley-Brinkley use to be 15 minutes.
