Great cover of a Marty Robbins ballad. Lyrics are below (with one strikeout for PC correctness):
In the town of old Kenosha marched some troubled rogues one day
Held hammers high above their heads, and looking for affray
No one dared to ask their business, no one dared to make a din
Save for one young man among them with an AR on a sling
AR on a sling
In this town there were some outlaws bound to teachings of the Red,
Many soi bois were among them as were t******s overfed,
They were vicious, prone to violence, burning gas stations and more,
And their leader rode a skateboard rolling swiftly on the floor,
Swiftly on the floor.
Now young man started talkin', made it plain to folks around
He was there to stop the mob from burnin' businesses to ground.
Didn't look like much the tough guy 'cept for one important thing,
And that thing of course an AR riding tautly on a sling
Tautly on a sling
Now the night was passing quickly as the mob moved wielding flame
And the youth called out to halt them when they spotted him as game
He was running down the pavement when a lout caused him to trip
And tempted the soi leader with with the skateboard on his hip
Skateboard on his hip
It was over in a moment as the folks had gathered round,
The skater sought the rifle as the youth lay on the ground,
Oh he might have went on livin' but forgot one major thing
And he fell down shot dead by the kid with AR on a sling
AR on a sling

He fell down shot dead by the kid with AR on a sling
Right when I heard the title I thought it would be a good Marty Robbins song.
Saw that earlier. Thanks for the lyrics. Good one.
My kids (yes, my kids) love the song “Big Iron”, which is what this song is based off of.
Bra-vo.
That was fun, led me to another ballad.
Don’t skate on me.

There have been a few links earlier, but I decided to post a thread for more folks to see it. I expect Google YouTube to pull it down along with a couple of other YouTube posts of the same song. Folks should download so it won’t disappear in the Google biased ether.
I love this kid and contributed to his defense.
This is a grim situation. His fight hasn’t even begun and before it ends he’ll be demoralized, beaten, raped, burned and everything in between. If he doesn’t prevail we’ll have legally sanctioned lynch mobs after all of us. If he wins he’ll likely be hunted the rest of his life.
Maybe it’s a tad early for celebrating. We might find a dirge more appropriate to recall the event.
God Job! We need more Singing Cowboys.
cowboy bump
My personal favorite.

On Marty’s same album us the song “Utah Carol”, about a Cowboy who knowingly sacrifice his life to save another. I was raised by a WWII vet who put his life on the line for America. Sometimes it’s a choice a Man makes.

I agree. Its the American way to find humor in events. But the Texas Ranger in the original Big Iron song did not end up in jail. Even if Rittenhouse is found innocent*, he will be spending months in jail (juvie?) awaiting his trial. I doubt if he will be given bail.
* My prediction: Rittenhouse will be found innocent of the shooting, but guilty on a weapons charge (he is too young to open-carry in Wisconsin). Some have said that he was on private property, and was forced into the street. That may or may not fly.
Gunslinger by Frankie Laine (remember that old one?)
Gunslinger, gunslinger, where do you ride,
What do you fight for today?
When folks need a hand, you’re on their side,
Gunslinger ride away.
[Verse 1:]
You let someone else be the first one to draw,
On your speed you depend.
Gunslinger, will you return, or meet your end,
Gunslinger, ride on, gunslinger, ride on, gunslinger ride away.
My 16-year-old son came up to me one day and asked me where the Ranger kept his rather large transitional metal.
Since Chemistry was an anathema to me, he had to start the video of the song before I got it.

... guns are denying the Left their right to beat the crap out of you whenever they want to.
Same here. Make sure donations are to the correct website. There is a Fightback foundation in Colorado for kids and school choice.
The correct site to donate to Kyle's defense is #Fightback at https://fightback.law/ which has a page devoted to donations for Kyle.
Personally, I think a few versions of "Streets of Laredo" would fit the Kenosha setting pretty well. The important part isn't necessarily the shooter, but the demised or mangled shoot-ee's tale of woe. :-)
Watch GUNLESS on youtube.com...
It's a great movie really....
