I used to drive to Wilson twice a week - sadly, a very depressed area with the textile industry having moved overseas a bunch of years before. Hard to believe that town still exists - just like all the small towns up and down I-95.
Yes..That is sad.. But it still had one of the worlds GREAT barbecue joints called Parkers Barbecue. I think it is still there..Gov. Jim Hunt said it got him elected twice!!
And to think Wilson was one of the wealthiest cities in America per capita at one time.
