Callout to fellow mountain bikers. Anyone have a good recommendation for an insect repellent that actually repels gnats? Mosquitos and ticks are easy to repel. Seems like most sprays work just fine. But gnats don’t seem to be repelled by anything.
I’ve tried about half a dozen brands of repellent from natural repellents to a 100% DEET repellent that was so strong it pealed the paint on my bike helmet. However, the gnats continue to buzz around my eyes. Super annoying.

Here are four channels to check out:
cyclingabout (has buying guides and great information)
path less pedaled (non-competitive gravel reviews and info)
Kevcentral (inexpensive bike reviews)
and Global Cycling Network (GCN)(all things bicycles)

Good youTube video recommendations. For those who like to do their own repair work, Check out the videos offered by the Park Tool company. Informative and amusing.

Bike are very scarce.
Amazon has a few though I do not like its liberal support.

Good tip on Park Tool channel. I have a number of their tools, with some decades old. A little pricey, but with many components you have to use the right tools.

If you put a motor on the bicycle it is easier to pedal....

Walmart does not sell the very finest bikes....
That's just not even remotely right.

I have done quite a few rides on Zwift (37 times up the Alpe) that were +3000 feet of climbing but on Saturday I did my first out on the road climb like that. 26 miles, 3018 feet of ascent. 7500 feet of ascent for the week over 77 miles of riding.

There are small flies in certain woods that are attracted to their reflection of my tinted glasses so I take them off.
I like riding in light rain because it clears the air of gnats.

I love the pizza cutter! What a great idea for those wishing to consume carbohydrates for an upcoming ride!
