Wearing Black Lives Matter shirts, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and assistant coach Becky Hammon opted to stand while players and coaches on the Spurs and Sacramento Kings kneeled during the national anthem Friday night.
Popovich, who has long spoken out against racial injustice, explained he preferred to keep his decision to stand "to myself" and that "everybody has to make a personal decision."
Popovich's star guard DeMar DeRozan said people should not "vilify" either Popovich or Hammon for standing.

Based on his past statements, he probably feels unworthy to kneel because he isn’t black enough.
Better yet, just change the channel.

Alternatively, it also is possible that this has gone too far even for some of the leftists. Of course, they lack the courage across the board to say anything about that, so they I'd still damn them all.
1. His parents were immigrants, so he still retains an appreciation for this country that so many misfits and losers from long-time American families have lost.
2. He's a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, and attended the academy during the peak of the Vietnam War when the wasn't considered very popular career option for a lot of leftist Americans.

Disrespecting the flag is protected by free speech in as much as the offender cannot be charged with a crime. Other than that the males in the audience should demand an explanation or walk out. They disgust me.

Just based on previous comments from popovich, patriotism is low on the list of motivations.
