With all the international traveling I've done I learned early on that misbehaving in any way in front of an Immigration official was a good way to get seriously killed.

So I've never done it.

I have - once, when the NATO country immigration official ripped up my military travel orders in my face. It cost them millions in US aid the next year. Expensive lesson for them.
