My question is, I guess, how to defeat this on FR? Doing nothing is pretty much the same as the defeatism just more polite.
Every now and then, a few recently, I post articles and then go back to defeat the defeatists. I think that is useul, and going to threads already up that are larded with defeatists. I never mention the letter 17, just refute their quagmire of hateful defeatism with facts.
If I had more energy and time I’d do it more. I try to avoid personal attacks etc so as to avoid suspensions, but I do call them out on their hopelessness/defeatism and call them debbie downers and eeyores.
