That’s a really good idea! I may have to borrow it from you.
I was going to post ++++++++++++++++++++.
Respectfully disagree dear FReeper.
Hygiene standards of 1917 are in no way comparable with 2020 standards. In 1917, major population centers still dumped raw sewage directly into their potable water source. People didnt wash their hands. Ice was in common use for retail food sales and storage.
Engineers dont get to pick and choose between which laws of physics we follow and ignore. There is no scientific proof masks prevent virus spreads; only regurgitated, non-peer reviewed junk science propaganda pushed by #EnemyOfThePeople media.
For example, a N95 standard mask protects wearer from inhaling 95% of 3 micron sized particles. #WuhanVirus is 1 micron sized. Only a HEPA filter mask with a proven air tight seal or a positive pressure supplied air breathing system followed with proper decontamination of the user afterwards is 100% effective protection against 3 micron particles.
Furthermore, the N95 one way exhalation valve does not filter exhaled breath from #WuhanVirus infected users; if an infected user is coughing up an infected lung, particles as large as 6000 microns are exhaled.
Bandannas and other non-standard face coverings as a virus filter are a cruel joke upon the non-critically thinking people; engineers should fight back against this junk science. Quite frankly, if masks could prevent the spread of a virus particle attached to water vapor, one could wear that mask below 45f dew point and not see exhaled water vapor from their breath.
As with all airborne viruses,100% of the population will eventually become exposed; herd immunity, virus mutations, and host death are the only means that slows virus transmission rates.
Cheers,
OLA
If the sign on the front of the Kwik-E-Mart says that shirts and shoes are required to enter, then I put on a shirt and a pair of shoes or I don't enter the store.
If Costco's policy is that a mask is required for entry into the store, then I either put on a mask to go in or I turn around and walk away.
There is no small amount of sentiment here against these business owners. If you don't like the mask policy, then vote with your wallet and stay out of the store.
But don't go into the store without a mask because you're speshul and then tell everyone it's just a hoax. (Because when you do, then you're failing the IQ test and missing the point.)
I applaud you for this, because this is the way we should be reacting.
If a business demands something from us (such as a mask or even just a pair of shoes) and we think it's stupid, then we don't go in the store, and they don't get our money. Everyone is satisfied.
I don't understand why people (even the usually-stolid Freepers) will play the Anti-Karen and place themselves in the store (and in conflict with store employees, other customers, and the store's management) because they have this idea that their opinion on this virus is more important than the policy of the store (and any fines that the store may face because of their behavior).
The rational thinker here understands that our own opinion on this virus means nothing next to the policy of the private enterprise we seek to do business with. (The emotional thinker, of course, will never figure it out.)
We either play by their rules or we take the ball (that would be our money) and we simply go home.
If there is a single entity in the galaxy that would be filled with people who were already at a physical disadvantage for any kind of illness, it would be a hospital. (And if he had gone into that hospital without a mask, the Left would be well within its rights to excoriate him from today through election day; without question, a Democrat President who did the same would be subject to an unceasing barrage from the Right.)
I asked a question; it doesn’t mean I agree with what was done.
Quarantine sick people, not well people.
I do fight against it. I don’t know where you get the idea that I am pro-mask. I hate this diabolical deception that has been put on our society.
You’re fine with no shirt, no shoes, no service but you get on your “I gots muh rights” high horse over a little piece of fabric across your pie hole.
WHO WILL NOT WEAR THE RIBBON!?!?
i won’t.
How many decades have you worn a required the larger ribbon of shirt and shoes to the store?
I like mocha cupcakes with lots of frosting and sprinkles. No ribbons.
