Good Morning All. Normally the Bender family gathers here on the 4th of July for a cookout of grilled local Oysters, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs but Lady Bender said enough so everyone is on their own. Most of the Fourth festivities have been cancelled here Benderville is experiencing some of the nicest gardening weather in the 65 years I have lived here.

Grilled oysters?
Don’t they slip through the grill cracks?

We grilled oysters & shrimp & burgers every 4th when I lived on the GOM. Miss so many things about that area! Sadly, we're only grilling steak here this year. Sniff. 😁
I have been able to pick 1 zucchini so far & let me tell you, after 3 years of fighting squash worms, drought & floods, it's the prettiest zucchini I've ever seen!!!

Looks still cool while after a cooler spring with a weather pattern more like Winter after mid May we went into a pattern more like July (hot with drought), and now are somewhat like August (hotter with often showers), but the toms are reaching for the heavens (from whence comes every good thing, from Him who made them). Glory to God for all.
