".. We will have to reverse our posture and accept the risks that go along with real conflict in order to turn this situation around. I don’t see that kind of strength, courage and commitment developing anytime soon. Its just too costly in a personal way for most ordinary Americans.."

Good response! And thanks for taking the time to write it. I'm thinkin we're actually no too far off the same page, just mebbe from different perspectives. Methinks a body best be mighty careful exactly how they went about that reversal of posture. Even with the convulsions of the MSM it's still a bit hard ta tear down citizens defending family, home and community if done properly. But it's an easy place to fuggitup quickly and I dunno if I'd rush off to jump in the mix for a dem-controlled AO. My own personal mix of reluctance/restraint comes from 57 years of living amongst the humans with their various "conditions". Hehehe.

I'm not quite sure what to expect, but conversations with my LEO friend of late have been interesting.

Next time I call ya "surrender-monkey" I'll be sure to include a wink-n-a-grin. d;^)

Not a rebuttal, however, why must there always be someone who is at fault? Don't "We the people" have to accept responsibility? So far, perhaps not for long, we have the ability to remove and replace every elected representative who isn't doing the job they were elected for!

Of course "accepting responsibility" is a trait that seems to have vanished from out culture. It is much easier to blame someone or something else for all that is wrong in our lives.

Both Alexis de Tocqueville and Benjamin Franklin opined about the end of the Republic.

Re “someone at fault”... why isn’t it us?

My comment on that is that to accept responsibility, you have to have knowledge. How many of us truly know what the candidates proposed on the election ticket really stand for, other than their party affilication? Oh, maybe at the top of the ticket we’ve watched some ads and even heard a debate, but much of our government, although elected, is essentially anonymous.

There’s a certain inertia to government. Pre-existing officials and employees last a long time. That’s why the Cultural Marxism movement is both pernicious and effective. It’s a cultural movement, only partially structured. Election Day creeps up, and most votes (including my own) are on the basis of very minimal information or party affiliation, down-ticket.

Every once in a while, some elected official is in the position to do something that has lasting beneficial or deleterious effects. I’d say that loading up Minneapolis, or for that matter Augusta and Lewiston (in Maine) with Somalis was one of those lasting bad acts. Whether it was supposedly altruistic (the best I can say for GWBush), or devilishly, Islamically supporting clever (Blame Obama), I can’t say for sure. But, if it hadn’t happened at all, those locations would be significantly better off!

Good. Most of the people there need to get shot by ignorant tribesmen.

“Anyone defending themselves or their community will be prosecuted aggressively to send a message.”

Really? I didn’t know that.

There are more than two million defensive gun uses in the US annually. About 99.9999% are never prosecuted. What happened?

That many? Please provide a source for that as I find it hard to believe, but will be happy to take a look at the data.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Time to organize a local militia for protection if the police can’t be called because of politics.

The jury is still out on DGU as past studies need more refinement. Like all research and attempts to draw conclusions based on statistical data, there is room for disagreement in how the questions are asked, how the sampling was done and what are the inherent biases of the people doing and/or sponsoring the research project.

I have known, worked with and associated with a lot of people over the years and am not aware of a single DGU case. Now maybe those people were generally less likely to be involved in such a situation but I acknowledge that its still possible that the occurrence of DGU events may be quite high in this country.

We need better data before we can reach any conclusions IMO.

Thanks for providing the links.

Not knowing who is concealed and armed is also an immeasurable deterrent to criminals who have chaos in mind.

It’s in the same orbit as DGU.

I leave it to statisticians to count the dancing angels on the head of this pin. Not my job. I wish them luck. In the meantime, I will continue to use the two million DGU to maximum effect.

Cheers.
