I was thinking the same thing. I think the biggest change from all this is that people will take more responsibility for their security rather than relying on police ie, arm themselves.
The only time you will ever see a police officer from here on out is when it is reported that a law-abiding citizen is using a firearm to defend his/herself.
They will be there in seconds to arrest you.

Shutting down the police and opening the prisons is a tried and tue classical Communist tactic for the takeover. When they have taken over then the prisons are filled up again until they get cleared out once more but this time by shooting prisoners.
