I think it all boils down to one, very simple thing: The cultural/societal left has pretty much succeeded it taking away the Freedom of Speech for anyone not able to pass their ‘purity of beliefs’ tests. So, now, with Freedom of Speech now successfully morphed into: “Free Speech for me, but not for thee,” the remaining bugbear that they’ve decided needs to likewise be eliminated is the “Freedom of Silence”.
Anything other than immediate, enthusiastic, complete and ACTIVE agreement/participation will no longer be tolerated, PERIOD.
